After enjoying a beautiful sunset last night we were quick to bed knowing we had a hard day today. Despite our best intentions, we were late away after being caught in various conversations with staff and other guests.
Once packed up we made a quick getaway back down the hill to get back on the trail. The day split in to three with a section to Porth-gain where we stopped at The Sloop for second breakfast ; the second section up and over to Abercastle and a third section then on to the beach at Andy Bach, and be which we were to lay up for the night.
The walking was on a stony - Rocky path that sometimes made foot placement difficult, particularly where the path was over grown. There were elements of swooping and soaring as we crossed numerous gullies, but one of them could be termed challenging. The weather remained hot and we had a number of water stops, including stopping to brew up at Abercastle at a picnic table.
The scenery was at times stunning, particularly as we moved on to the shoulder of Mynydd Morfa with great views to Strumble Head. The owner of the campsite met us at Abercastle Bach beach and showed us the way up the hill to the campsite. A short day compared to the previous few fourteen and fifteen milers, but one that still left you feeling you had been stretched.
