First ten miles of our walk today was lovely with some stunning scenery on land and sea. For the most part it was in warm sunshine but with the occasional cold breeze. In the early part of the walk there were a number of hills and dales, but taken slowly there was nothing particularly taxing. The cliff top views of caves, stacks and arches were sublime with the aquamarine seas taking it to another level. Carpets of wild flowers, particularly acres of blue Spring Squill and stands of Early Purple Orchid, but also the more common Daisy and Buttercup in abundance, added a floral tint to the day. Our walk through the Castlemartin East Range was a more level affair, but with equally stunning bays, coves and rock features. Perhaps the most interesting the rock stacks with thousands of nesting guillemots. For a large part of the walk we were accompanied by Martyn Howe who kindly walked and chatted with us most of the day. Now laid up in our bed for the night, we have a shorter day tomorrow to our campsite at Angle.
