Day two of our latest adventure is a slightly shorter walk, mainly at sea level. After dropping back down to the coast (we are currently on a hill), we walk through the dunes before cutting up in to Pembrey Forest to go inland which will take us round water features at the end of the peninsula, particularly the Gwndraeth. Carrying on upland to Kidwelly, we head towards the River Towy, stopping at a campsite at Tanylan just before the river to pitch up for the night. While in Kidwelly we are going grave hunting for a friend of my brother. Originally from Wales, he has ancestors in the old church graveyard.
The weather forecast is good and since 6.00am there has been bright sunshine. Young brother James, over from Australia, has his first taste of coastal walking today, fortunately a short one. We look forward to more beautiful views over the Gower Peninsula and inland over the valleys.
