But it is also a beginning with little ripples of excitement as one starts to look forward to the next exploit, a sense of anticipation of the new wonders that have still to unfold. Today, as we came to the end of our Gower Peninsula adventure it was a day like that. A day for reminiscing but also one for looking forward. This was particularly resonate as we could see the next few weeks of our next adventure across the estuary.
And so another adventure comes to a conclusion. We headed back home with some reluctance; back home to struggle to return to the ordinary after enjoying the sublime. But while there was reluctance and struggle, there was acceptance that all things end. We were left with the joy of knowing we had completed the task and we felt secure in the knowledge that before too long we will be back enjoying the upward and the downward slope of the Welsh coast again in the not too distant future.
