We moved from the foreshore at Battlehill to walk on minor roads to the pedestrian bridge just above Welldale. From there it was on minor roads and tracks back down to the shore by Newbie from where we were able to walk through to Powfoot, our stop for the night. Again, for much of the route there was no formal path and it was a hard slog over shingle and pebbles. Our run of good weather continued today, albeit with a cold wind blowing into our faces.
This was a hard day's walking, the lack of a clear path making for some strenuous exercise. That said, it had moments of great beauty as we walked out along the Solway Firth. More road walking tomorrow that we cannot avoid but we will continue do it with a light heart. We estimate 14 Miles from Powfoot to Glencaple but so far the estimate has only been right on one occasion.
