With the weather and the forecast what it is I have made some changes to my itinerary to limit my exposure to the elements. The first change is that I am staying in my current location for an extra day. This means I can take the train forward to Penychain and walk from there back to Penrhyndeudraeth and be indoors at night, with an option to dry clothing if it rains again. I have also emailed a campsite I am due to be staying in, in about three days to enquire about a Yurt for the night. Again, if it rains over the next three days this will provide an opportunity to dry out.
Today's walk will start on the foreshore just below Penychain where I will have a beach walk of about five to six kilometres, followed by a road walk of about three kilometres, returning to the shore to walk along below Criccieth. The route then stays on the coast until it turns up towards Porthmadog for a final few miles to Penrhyndeudraeth. Tomorrow morning I will return to Penychain to resume walking in my usual clockwise direction.
